Memories on a Wall
Black and White Silver Print: Photogram

If you have ever gone on vacation and brought home a souvenir you either mount in on a wall, or throw it in the back of your closet and never see it again. In this print I used my collection of spoons which were collected from different travels all around the globe. I started placing spoons all in a line and then took three and just threw them on, so they looked "out of place." Then I exposed the print for 12 seconds and slowly moved a piece of cardboard across it to change the light exposer. I picked three spoons that are the most memorable and did not align them with the others. Even if they would be align with the other spoons, when I look at them the memories strike me. The light to dark resembles time, the spoons in the darker part of the print have almost "faded" away in time, and the spoons in the lighter area are new and have fresh memories.
