Discubir Colores
Screen Print on Index Paper
This project was a lot of fun to do. In this project we used three transparent colors printed on top of each other with shapes cut out in all of them. The point of the project was to explore dominance, positive and negative. We printed red first and that was our positive dominant color, then we printed blue and that was out equal dominant color, and last we printed yellow and that was our negative dominant one. This project was challenging but I enjoyed the challenges. Throughout the prints there is an underlying theme of a bear. The blue print outlined a bear, the red print outlines solid claw like slash marks, and the yellow print outlines dotted slash marks. We chose this for two reasons, one, it is the school mascot. And two, because it is something interesting to look at. It also forces the viewer to look closely and interpret the print. Our title is Spanish and means discovering colors. We chose this as something to spice up our print and because we explored the colors during the project. Cam and I had a difficult time with the paints and getting the transparent quality. We also went through many different designs. But all of those made the final product that much more satisfying.
