Silence
Black and White Silver Print

For this photo I purposefully left it as a darker scale to show that there was no one and nothing there. It was full with silence, as it was when I visited. This place, is in my backyard, and at the time when I took the photo my dad was still at work, and my mother had gone to take my sister to violin, and I was all alone, and it was still. Not a sound was made, and outside, the only sound was the wind blowing and the birds chirping.

When I had originally taken the picture, I took another because I did not want one to be too light. This photo coincides with the world because sometimes you just have to step back, and listen to what is going on. Sometimes you have to be silent, and let others handle things.

I think that the black diagonal lines across the picture could represent the black times that everyone has in their lives. They could represent that we have our good times, and our bad times.

The cracks of light that illuminate the leaves and such on the ground can show that even the little things can make a difference. Things that seem trivial to you may mean an entire world to another person. It also could symbolize new life. The light shining on the leaves, sprouts, and grass on the ground could show that you can always find life, and happiness in every situation. Picture the desert, no plants except for the cactus, this barren wasteland, so to say, is able to sustain the life of a cactus, why? Who knows, I don't, but the fact is, you are able to always find even the smallest sliver of happiness in the saddest of times.
