Life Between Death
Black and White Silver Print
I became aware that my test print was to lights and darks clearly. I intended to show how within death there is life. I also intended to show every detail. I did this by changing the contrast and the exposure time. In addition, I used a # 2 filter. This is because I used a # 2 and a # 3.5 filter on my split test print and the #3.5 filter was to light. My manner of working was to make personal decisions of were my subject matter was placed. I purposely lined up the tree in-between the graves. The shadow of the trees envelope the graves, which leave a small light, patch of grass in-between the two graves. Along the bottom of the print, there is a strong horizontal line, which is the shadow of another tree of to the side of the print. This is a representation of the Rule of Thirds. This composition shows an important topic of conversation. This picture was taken at Lakeview Cemetery, in Minneapolis.
