For this photo I used a technique called panning. I used a very low shutter speed paired with a large f stop. In other words I left the shutter open for a long time while letting in a small amount of light. As I took the picture I followed the car with my camera lens. This creates an effect where the car is in focus and clear, while the background is blurred. It creates an aura of still vs. movement. Static objects vs. mobile objects. This is also the first time I have used a technique called spotting to fix small imperfections on the film.
