Right Turn Only
Black and White Silver Print
For this photo, I used a technique called shooting from the hip. The guidelines for the assignment were that you had to create a starting point, and then adjust as you take pictures without looking through the lens. I was shooting from the hip. I saw this reflection in the window of a quaint café. I could see that the glass was a very reflective surface. You can barely see some chairs inside, but everything else is reflected. The objects that are reflected are slightly blurry, but they create a sense of belonging. Although most of the frame feels close, the reflection helps expand the depth of field. You can see for miles in the reflection, although the frame is taken only a few feet away from the window.
