Bloom
Black and White Silver Print

This is a photogram, which is the process of varying light to change the exposure of a picture. In this photogram I used a fresh flower. I liked the affect of this flower because the petals were semi transparent, which made an interesting exposure. I chose to pluck some petals from the flower and spread them around the negative space of the photo. These petals evened out the whole flower I put to the side of the photo. When I exposed the photo the petals that were directly touching the paper and fully blocking the light turned bright white but the petals farther away allowed some light to come through and were grey. I enjoy this photogram because I think it demonstrates knowledge of the technique and displays an interesting use of depth to vary the color tones.
