Center on Attention
Ink on Index Paper
We chose to make the negative dominance shapes look like they do, because we felt it would be interesting if we did geometric shapes, rather than biomorphic. The shapes revolve around the blank circle in the middle. We made sure to make the "X", the cross, and the cut outs of the triangles all be open enough so that he circle could be the center of attention. This circle represents the pressure of a high school student's life. You have to decide what should be in the middle of your circle, versus what is going to be on the outside. It is a matter of picking your priorities, and getting them "straight." The circle draws your eye in, and captures hold of it while you begin to notice the objects around it. The print turned out to be successful in getting our point across, and completes our task.
