Asymmetrical Unbalance
Stamp Print on Paper
The approach taken to create the stamp used on this print used a variation of the Exquisite Corpse method, specifically, to explore the idea of randomness. The class sat in a circle and everyone added to each other's block without the previous person's design influencing their mark. Following this we were able to make a design using our block to make a tessellation, slide, rotation, or random pattern. My print uses a slide and rotation patterns giving the piece somewhat of an asymmetrical feel to it, but at the same time, the uneven cut of the block makes it unbalanced.
