Modern Violin Concert

I shot this photo in response to the examples of paradox shown in the preview episode to the series Art21 on PBS. I searched for paradoxes, and decided to set up this shot after seeing an old violin case. I removed the violin, and replaced it with my iPod, showing a picture of a violin, in an attempt to compare the presence of music today with what it would have been when this violin was originally played in the 1700’s. The lighting was very dim, so I had to use a wide aperture setting, causing a narrow depth of field. Only the iPod is in sharp focus, which is important, as it is the main subject in this image.
