I took this photo of Sean Tyree at the Blake girl’s semifinal soccer game. I shot many photos of the fans surrounding me, and this shot was one of my favorites. The lighting in the dome was a challenge; I had to adjust my camera to shoot at a different speed than the film was intended for, but I think it worked particularly well in this shot. Because of the relatively dim lighting in the stands, I was forced to use a wide aperture setting, which caused a narrow depth of field. I think that the placement of the blurred, glowing jumbotron in the background helps to set the environment, without being too distracting. This was a candid shot, and it’s clear that Sean is focusing on the game.
