The Uniting Bridges
Rubylith Print/Ink on Paper

This was a difficult print for me to do. I was just learning how to make a rubylith print, so I wasn’t quite sure how to do it yet. I was unsure of myself, and therefore not very confident in what to make for a design. The design that I ended up choosing is a simple one, but one that I am proud of because it took me so long to figure out. My title for this piece corresponds with what I see when I look at the image, which is a river with two bridges crossing over it. The viewer cannot directly see the “bridges” connect, however, it appears that they will some time off in the distance. I really like that this print makes the viewer think, because it isn’t obvious as to what it means or if there even is a meaning. I’m happy with how it turned out, and proud of myself for learning a new technique for making a print.
