Pillars
Black and White Silver Print

This picture was taken at the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis Minnesota. I took it looking through another grave that was two pillars made of granite. It is like looking through the death of one person or family member to see the whole picture of the world, which is important for all people to do. There is a great contrast in the photograph of lights and darks, these can represent the difference of life and death which is ever present in graveyards. The two large verticals in the center of the picture put all of the focus on the grave, which says "Hankinson."
