Steeple
Black and White Silver Print

This picture was taken at the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis Minnesota. It is of a large grave that protruded up into the air that reminded me of a church steeple. I took the picture because it showed a good contrast between the two sides and against the sky. It looked to be extremely high because all you can see is the sky and nothing to give it a sense of place. It goes against the rule of thirds by being placed in the middle of the print that gives it a different look. There was a three and a half filter used on this print to create the dark black on the pillar so that there would be increased contrast on the two sides. This picture has very strong verticals because there is the one large vertical line and the print was taken vertically which emphasizes it even more.
