Tree
Black and White Silver Print
When I took this picture I didn't really notice the tree shadow as being the focal point of the picture. I was actually more interested in the grass as being the focus. Once I developed and printed it for the first time I really noticed that the tree should be the focal point so I put more emphasis on the shadow by making it darker and the background a bit lighter causing more contrast. I also used a filter to make the shadow show up better, making a really nice shade of black. When I took this picture I was told to just take a picture of some grass to practice bracketing. I found a place that had nice darks and lights in it and tried to get the grass in really good focus. The picture was taken just outside the front door at the Blake High School. There is the shadow of a tree, part of a sidewalk, with some fallen leaves and grass. The rule of thirds is present with the line that is created by the shadow in the left third of the print.
