A Little Flower for Life
Ink on Fabric

For this print I decided to use the theme of previous classes, so I used a photo I had taken last year when I took the photography class here at Blake. This was one of my favorite photos and I thought the flower would look nice as a print, but I also thought the flower needed something to explain it, so I found the quote by Hans Christian Anderson. I chose orange as the color for the flower because I wanted the color to be bright and orange seemed to bring out the life in the flower, as opposed to using a darker, cooler color. Though the actual flower from the picture was a bright red, I decided I didn’t want to duplicate the color of the original flower so as to personalize the print more.
