Broken Shadows
Black and White Silver Print

I took this photograph during the Uptown photo shoot we went on with our class. The first thing I realized about this bike was that the wheels were bent funny, as though it had been run over by a car. As I was taking this picture, I didn't notice the shadow of the tree in the street. When I was enlarging this image, I decided to use a number five filter because I liked the contrast between the dark shadow of the tree and the light street. The number five filter also brought out more detail in the bike and the sidewalk than the number two filter I tried. This photograph demonstrates descriptive quality because I used the number five filter to bring out the details in the bike and the sidewalk that I saw when I was taking the picture.
