Slow Traffic
Photogram: Black and White Silver Print
This photograph was hard to work with because of the difference in amount of light needed to develop the sign in the foreground and the road in the background. I wanted to make it look a little darker and more mysterious so I used a high filter and more time in development to create a darker background and lighter foreground. This picture was taken in uptown, and in a part of the city that was wealthy with shops. But even in a place with sidewalks and restaurants on the side of the roads, there's always an alley that looks like this.
