The Dance of the Pelicans
Black and White Silver Print
This picture actually occurred spontaneously. I was out walking on the Naples Pier when I saw this huge group of pelicans waiting for the nearest fisherman to catch a fish. I didn't have my digital camera with me so I used my other camera. I quickly took a snapshot and it turned out really well. I called it The Dance of the Pelicans because the random positions of the Pelicans somewhat resembles a dance. Also, they are all facing in the same direction, which adds to the resemblance of a dance. I love the contrast in this picture. I struggled with getting the right amount but soon found that I wasn't developing it for enough time. After Mr. Teslow suggested I doubled the time I found my final print.
