Pretty Vacant
Screen Print on Index Paper

I used a large piece of ruby-lith to cut out around my teeth and parts of my hair where I wanted to the color to show through. I then burned this onto my screen and used orange ink to print the orange on paper. The next day I burned my picture onto the screen and used black ink for the rest of the print. I used orange because it is my favorite color and I had intended on putting the orange somewhere I liked about myself but subconsciously I must have put the color on my hair and my teeth because those are the things that I would like to change about myself, not things that I like about myself. This print shows what I think of myself, and my subconscious artistic ability.
