Sun Pagoda of Sorrow
Stamp Print: Ink on Paper

My stamp print is one with much emotion; the emotion of sorrow towards my fellow man. This print was started as a requirement, but, as it became more emotional, was transformed into art. When I started I just wanted to make the required rotation, but I wanted it to look like the sun. Knowing that the sun was orange, I wanted to choose a contradicting color to go with a somewhat depressing mood, so I chose black. Next I though I would put a red single stamp on the side of that print, to represent struggle, but when I inked up my stamp in the red ink, black ink came also, which made an interesting pattern that was personal to my print. The red and black mix of the stamp created an almost random, but meaningful, emotion, which paired with my other rotated print, made a whole.
