After-Party
Alternative Stencil
This project demonstrates the use of positive and negative space to create a balanced composition. The assignment called for the use of the three primary colored inks combined with a base to make them partially transparent. This transparency allows the three different layers to show through each other and combine colors. Khong Thao and I created this piece, with no rhyme or reason to our shape selection save for the sword-like figure used in the last layer. I learned that the order of the layer is quite significant. I believe that using red first, then blue and yellow would have produced the most appealing results.
