Another Echo
Ink on Index Paper

This print is a direct transfer from stamp made of rubber-like "easy cut" material. Because I had no control over the marks made on my stamp, I assume that this project was all about composition and craft. I'll admit that I was appalled when my stamp was handed back to me after being gauged by eleven different students. The stamp was no longer mine, but I had to work with it as though it were. The assignment was to use multiple prints of "your" stamp to create a tessellation, a radial design, a slide design or something random. My piece is an isolated portion of a tessellation (in blue because I like it). I thought the parallelogram would be aesthetically pleasing and the large line of white that runs through both prints creates visual interest.
