Waiting On the World to Change
Black and White Silver Print: Photogram
"Waiting On the World to Change" a song sung by John Mayer, was the title I chose for my photogram I created. My intention for this image was for readers to understand the changes our world and society are going through today. Economically, socially, and politically our community as a whole is different than it was 20 years ago. I want my viewer's to read the lyrics and understand what the message is. The ways the words are interpreted are going to be different for each person, because we all have different beliefs. In making this photogram I realized for myself, how my opinions do matter and voicing them could benefit me or anyone else. After creating this image, I realized that I could have used more creative techniques in voicing what I wanted to be heard from this photogram. I used a transparency for the image of the world and for the lyrics, so they were somewhat faded. The image of the headphones was an actual object. I did this so that they stood out more and people understood the connection between music and social issues of today.
