Center of Attention
Ink on Index Paper
We chose to name our print the center of attention because of the intentional blank circle in the middle of the print. It is where the eye is immediately drawn when you look at the print because every aspect of the print is symmetrically oriented around the blank circle. It represents the void caused by the pressure of everyday life, and we used the corners of the 'X' and the cross to represent arrows. These arrows represent all of the daunting tasks that people have to take on everyday, all seeming to weigh down on your shoulders. The idea of including the blank circle in the center of everything else speaks to the thought that all of your focus is centered around the weight that those pressures create.
