Sixteen
Black & White Silver Print: Photogram

This photogram is really personal for me because what it represents is my life while I was sixteen years old. The picture cut in half is of my mom and I. I'm on the left and my mom is on the right. We're cut apart with a jagged line because it was a rough time apart for us, and what came between us was my mom's cancer. That's what the ribbon in between us if for. I put the lace around my mom and not around me because it is representing my mom fading away from me, and me not being able to do anything about it because I was too scared and alone. The words Just Hang On at the top are what was going through my head throughout the entire process, and I just needed to keep holding on to both her, and the thought that everything would be ok. There's a heart in the top corner that is beyond both my mom's and my reach, this represents the struggle both of us were having to stick together throughout the entire process. And if either of us could just get to the love that was lost, everything would be alright.
