Mystery
Black and White Silver Print

My intention for this photograph was to get a reflection in the window along with the cooks at Lunds in Minneapolis. My intention was to allow for the viewer to see what was going on behind the camera to. This photograph was taken while on a field trip in which we were supposed to shoot from the hip. This shot was taken from the hip as we were walking on the sidewalk. I set the enlarger at F8 for 6 seconds using a 3.5 filter to create more contrast between the lights and darks. Throughout the process of taking and developing this photograph, I learned many things about reflection and shooting from the hip. I learned that one could be successful shooting from the hip, and that reflection gives the photograph a new dimension, and a mystery as the viewer attempts to understand what is going on in with the photographer.
