Goals
Black and White Silver Print
I took this photograph in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden near the Blake Upper School. It was an in-class shooting assignment. Our goal for the assignment was to take pictures concerning the elements of art; line, texture, shape and value. My goal in this photograph was to incorporate the element of line. The branches and the lines the edges of the trees make were the selling points for me in this photograph. I was pleased with the way the marker in the bottom left of the photograph completed the photograph, by attracting one's eye away from the middle. While producing this photograph in the dark room, I exposed it for 8 seconds at F8, and I dodged at the bottom to try and lighten it up in order to create the full range of grays to complete the total range of tonal value.
