Scattered
Black & White Silver Print

This is a descriptive photograph. I did not use a filter in enlarging this photograph because the photo already accurately portrayed what I saw when I took the shot. One of the reasons why I chose this photograph is because the contents of the photograph are taken out of context by the closeness of the shot. The viewer cannot tell whether the photograph is taken in the woods, at the park or in my won backyard. To me, this ambiguity makes the details of the photograph even more captivating. The ambiguity, partnered with wide range of values as well as the contrast of the photo allowed these ordinary, scattered objects to hold my attention. Though I see pinecones and needles almost everyday, I rarely view them in such an isolated and detailed states as they are depicted here.
