Rainy Sunday

I was supposed to be painting a happy airy painting to one of my favorite poems, but somehow the colors seemed to dull and the rain seeped in. It was all shoved together, a jumble of plastic-edged photos and metallic-sharp paint tubes, but the rain softened it all. The strong horizontal between the mess of my desk and white of the sky creates a separation. Harsh on the inside, soft on the outside. But the soft seeps in as the edges of the bottle and the photos blur. The outside is coming in.
