Reverie
Black & White Silver Print

This photograph is expressive. It is not what was there, but what I saw. In the view of the photograph you see someone's leg, part of a sidewalk, part of a tree, some grass, puddles and a street lamp. All of the above I saw, but obviously the street lamp is a reflection. Reflections show images, as do photographs. The contrast of what is real and what is just an image of something real is expressed in this photograph with contrast between light and dark. I found this image while walking down Franklin Ave. in Minneapolis, MN. I was looking at a puddle, but saw a street lamp. It is an image of an image of something real.

"Reverie; A state of abstracted musing; daydreaming."
