Man Through Nature
Black & White Silver Print
This photograph was taken at Nuremburg Gardens. The columns in the foreground date back over a hundred years from when the land was part of a mansion belonging to a prominent family. The columns were the only part of the house that was preserved when it was made into a public garden. In the original photograph the columns were too close it value to the trees behind them and didn't create enough contrast. I experimented with different filters to create a significant contrast between the columns and the trees. This is an expressive photograph because I manipulated the image by changing it's contrast in order to place emphasis on the difference between manmade and nature.
