Stamp Print- Ink On Paper
I wanted this print to seem as a contrast of light and dark elements and to make it seem in someone's mind of a very abstract style to display a print. I experimented with making several prints without re-inking the stamp, which created the light element of the print. I also tried when making one of the blocks in my print, to press harder on one side than another, the best example of this procedure would be the blue print in the left-center of the piece. I didn't really have much of an approach when creating my print; I just used the random concept to create my abstract art print. Also I wanted to create a picture of falling blocks or something of the sort, which is why my print seems as it has a certain "falling effect" to it. I used overlapping to add to the randomness of their "fall." I also tried to print a red print on top of a blue print in order to create a purple print. It turned out to be a dark purple that fades diagonally into a lighter purple in which you can see shades of red and blue.
