Simplicity
Photogram: Black and White Silver Print
For this print I wanted to create a metaphor for something in a larger aspect of life in a little photogram. Although when you first look at this and think, "Wow, it's his hands embracing a tiny piece of macaroni pasta. Amazing," very sarcastically in your head, you must not judge it until you know the greater meaning beneath the surface of the simple "easy" explanation. The meaning that I determined about this photogram after I created it was that the macaroni piece resembled the planet earth in an extremely simple form. The hands could either represent good as they could be the heavens embracing the planet and carrying it through the universe, or it could represent evil, it could represent the end of the world, all of the conflict on earth. It could represent the greenhouse gases that are causing global warning, the wars between countries at the moment, and just the general unrest between opposite countries. Lastly, it could represent the nuclear weapons that countries possess and if fired, could be the end of the macaroni, the earth itself.
