Cocoa Crisp
Alternative Ink on Paper
For this print we were asked to compose a print that consisted of alternative ink. Previous things used by students included peanut utter and ketchup. I first thought of the idea of chocolate when Mr. Teslow asked us to think about what we had eaten over the weekend and to use that for the basis of our ideas. I had bought a chocolate shake the night before and decided to do something that had to do with chocolate. The purpose of the alternative ink was to relate it to the image you printed. I then remembered that there is a baseball player on the Boston Red Sox whose name is Coco Crisp, and decided to print the Red Sox Logo along with his number. The ink used, chocolate frosting, relates to his name and therefore became part of the title of this print. The process used was a normal screen print using the chocolate as the ink.
