Autumn Blanketed
Black and White Silver Print

I took this photograph at my friend's cabin on the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Using the Holga camera, taking photos with the correct exposure became more difficult than with a real camera. This was due to the lack of control over aperture and shutter speed combined with a lighting situation of relatively high contrast between lights and darks. The tonal value under the trees was dark and cool while out near the river it was warm and bright. I took this image on our way down to the dock, hoping that it would turn out. I saw the dead tree and was engaged by the contrast between it and the sunny riverbank.
