Checkerboard
Stamp print on paper

In this print I wanted to organize the different colors. I was influenced by a checkerboard pattern, and it was my intention to mimic a similar idea. All the colors were so different but yet with the continuous print it connected all the colors and stamps together to make a whole. I made this piece using a stamp that was cut out by all the members in my class. I then placed the stamp on the paper changing the ink color every three stamps. I wanted to leave a little space between each print to make them stand out. My goal for this print was to make it organized and even because I am a very orderly person. Also it was necessary for the lines to be straight and the color to be even. Overall my intention for this artwork was to capture a print in a way that displays color and the texture of the print itself.
