Screen Print on Index Paper
As me and my studio partner came together as the project was introduced to each other we had an opposing look on how to solve the problem on having three different kinds of print: positive dominance, negative dominance, equal dominance. What my partner and I discovered was how to bring together one idea from a series of our own ideas mine; symmetrical and basic ideas with my partners random and extroverted ideas. As we progressed further into the project I learned that when printing these inks on top of each they were overlapped to create their combination of their two colors. Also I learned how to work with each other and bounced ideas off each other. For example when we got to class we each knew our jobs so with in 5 minutes we were printing. Through mixing inks we learned how to make the inks more transparent on the print by adding more extender. The first time we attempted this project we struggled in the area of having one of each print the three dominance prints, negative, positive, equal. As the processes went on we learned from our mistakes so the next time we did this project it was a success. Through this print series I learned many things that will help me for projects to come like working with a partner for ideas and how to use each other as a support system not only in this course but in other courses.
