Bruin
Ink on Index Paper
The print Bruin was created through the study of punk rock. The idea of the project was to create a print that captured the ideas and themes of punk rock. The main ideas that were captured in the print were spontaneity, randomness, loud, and aggressive. This was captured in the print through a series of reduction that formed the final image. The first print was a rainbow roller using blue and the complement color orange. The rainbow roller technique created a transition in the middle. Following that a series of reductive prints were done on top. The first was done using a split complement of blue, which was red orange. The second reduction was created using blue green, which is the complement of red orange. Through the series of reduction the print captured the ideas of punk rock.
