Blue Rotation
Stamp Print on Paper

The print Blue Rotation was created by using a stamp composed of every students mark. The concept of the project was to fuse individual pieces on two levels to crate unity. This was achieved by first creating a stamp that was the composition of each member's mark. We started with different shapes and had a few seconds to make a mark on the stamp. The stamp was then passed to the left and a new mark was in-gouged until each member had left his or her mark on every stamp. The idea of unity was also achieved by taking a solid piece of stamp and dividing it into twelve pieces, which represented the twelve members of the class. The final print of the project was an individual decided tessellation. By rotating the print I was able to achieve an interesting symmetry, which creates a concept of two pieces belonging to one whole.
