Memo For Cecilia
Ink Jet Print

This Jewel Case represents all things punctured or "Punktured". The pre-image has been distorted to the degree that the rip in the seam has been blurred. This represents the punk rock movement being blurred in with everyday life. The punk rock movement has been slowly immersed into the culture of normalcy. This print was created using ink printed on index paper and in which three different reductive prints were added on top of one another. The first being a rainbow roller, second a reductive emulsified block out responding to a significant punk characteristic of puncture, and the third was even more of a design by blocking out open space. After the edition print was scanned on the computer the print was distorted with Photoshop 7.0 and transformed into a CD Jewel Case under Photoshop's different alterations and CD Case insert. This print remained true to its original characteristics set down in our first edition print, yet grew on its expressive qualities to enhance the overall message of punk rocking the art world. This related to Jenny Holtzers benches, which gave me inspiration. Her benches represent an overall message yet to when looked at separately a whole new meaning comes across. Punk is similar to this and is, in it's own right; up for interpretation.
