Randall Barry’s service to Blake is both impressive and lengthy. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2008, during which time he has served on both the School Committee and the Advancement Committee, the latter of which he chaired this past school year. He also was Annual Fund chair for two years. For the past seven years, Barry has been an important member of the Alumni Board, serving as the Annual Fund Committee chair for three years, chair of the Volunteer and Recognition Committee and the alumni representative to the Board of Trustees for three years. In addition, he has served as Blake’s Minnesota State High School League representative.

As impressive as his Board service is, Barry also has devoted an incredible amount of time to building connections between alumni and the School —— from serving as the class of 1986 representative for the last seven years to helping plan his past three class reunions. Barry is described as “the glue that has held the class of 1986 together as a group and to Blake.” As a current Blake parent, Barry devotes many volunteer hours chaperoning field trips and tying ice skates during winter recess. For his service and devotion to the Blake community, we express our gratitude by presenting Randall Barry with the 2011 Jenny Stephens Hagen Spirit Award.
