Alumni Athlete of the Year
Carolyn Moos '97
Carolyn Moos is an acclaimed world-class basketball player. While at Blake, Moos won nationals while playing for North Tartan AAU. She was named one of the Sporting News’ Top Student Athletes in the Country and earned a number of other awards and honors.
Moos attended Stanford University and played on the women’s basketball team. At 6'6", she is tied for the tallest player in Stanford women’s basketball history. After graduating from Stanford, Moos played basketball professionally, both in the WNBA playing for the Miami Sol and in Europe playing for a FIBA team in Sceaux, France. She also represented the United States playing for USA Basketball in Europe, Central America and South America. Throughout her basketball career, Moos played for teams that won numerous titles, including a gold medal at the Junior Olympics in Brazil.
After leaving the WNBA in 2003, Moos returned to California and became an ACE certified nutrition consultant and personal trainer, running FITT4Life guided training. She completed her master’s degree in health communication management from the University of Southern California and currently resides in Los Angeles.
For her considerable achievements as an athlete and her ongoing dedication to health and fitness, we are delighted to present the 2011 Alumna Athlete of the Year Award to Carolyn Moos.
