Half of our Lower School students attend the Lower School, Highcroft campus in Wayzata a warm, inviting, safe environment.
The other half of our Lower School students and all Middle School students (grades six through eight) attend the Blake campus in Hopkins 55 acres of rolling hills. This campus is also home to our athletic fields, tennis courts, pool and ice arena.
The Northrop campus, near the cultural and business heart of Minneapolis, houses Blake’s Upper School, grades nine through 12. Located next to the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, this special campus taps into the many cross-disciplinary opportunities of a vibrant metropolitan center.

The Blake School is recognized as one of the finest independent, college preparatory day schools in the nation. Founded in 1900, Blake serves more than 1,300 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12, is non-sectarian and co-educational, and has campuses in Minneapolis, Hopkins and Wayzata.
The Blake School is the product of the 1972 merger of three highly regarded independent schools: Northrop Collegiate School, a girls’ school founded in 1900, Blake School for boys, founded in 1907, and Highcroft Country Day School, a co-educational school founded in 1958. Each of the three campuses is small enough to provide an environment tailored to the needs of the age group it serves, yet all students may access the programs and facilities of a large and dynamic educational institution.
We are proud of the things that distinguish us from other independent schools: our superior academic program, our extraordinary teachers, our competitive interscholastic athletic programs, the full range of the arts opportunities we provide, our three campus structure and our commitment to pluralism, global citizenship and community. But most of all, we are proud of our bright, multitalented students and their passion for learning.
