Sharing-Research
Research Sharing- May The children identified questions/topics they would like to study. Please join us in assisting them in this investigation. They can use books, the internet, interviews with experts and endless resources. We are sending information cards and a folder to help them organize their data. They can present what they learned about their topic or the answers to their questions on their sharing day. They are free to choose any means of relaying their knowledge to their classmates. The aim is to delight in discovery and share with others. Merci

Book Excange
The library closes Friday, May 17, 2013. Friday, May 10 will be the last checkout day. The week of May 13 – 17 will be RETURN YOUR LIBRARY STUFF WEEK. There are generally no library classes after Friday, May 17. Please remind your students (and yourself) to return all library items as close to this date as possible. It is deeply appreciated! The Annual Book Exchange will run for one week - Monday, May 20 to Friday, May 24, 2013. This is when the students may bring in children's books and videos that they no longer want to and trade them for tickets. One ticket is given for each book or video. The students may then use the tickets to purchase other books or videos brought in by other students. To insure that all students (and teachers) can take advantage of this activity I will place in each teacher’s mailbox enough tickets for each student, teacher and teaching assistant to get an item. Would you please hand the tickets out when you think it is appropriate. Specialists and the office team will also receive tickets

French Connection
Bienvenue au coin français le vendredi 17 mai 2013 The kindergarteners enjoyed introducing the class to their favorite stuffed animals (doudou) and their soft friends were excellent listeners as they got to join in French for the day! We have also been talking about shelters and have learned the vocabulary for house (la maison), cabin (la cabane), wall (le mur), door (la porte), window (la fenêtre), roof (le toit), chimney (la cheminée) through a fun song with lots of movement. To complement our work with animals and shelters, the Upper School’s Amity intern, Sory, returned to tell us about animals and various shelters in Senegal. Sory’s fascinating stories and photos of his country combined with his delight in the children and their questions and reflections has been a joy. We wish him the very best as he returns to Senegal this summer and pursues his dream of becoming a teacher. Bon week-end, Madame Cholat -
