Blake Builds Seventh Habitat for Humanity House



Blake Habitat for Humanity volunteers with new homeowners.

Twenty students and adults from The Blake School spent a portion of their 2008 spring break volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. The group traveled to Taos, New Mexico where they built an adobe house.

Volunteers included juniors Kelsey Atherton, Mac Bascom, Harrison Blankenship, Luke Cronin, Allison Malecha, Nidhi Nagalia, Alex Noot, Jeff Palmer, Laurie Peltola, Chloe Rekow. Eric Rommel, Ali Rich, sophomores Kasey Boyd, Emily Brower, Danielle Clausnitzer, Maddie Sankaran, Upper School science teacher Janet Williams, LearningWorks at Blake Student Service Director Heather Jackson, former Upper School social studies teacher Chuck Ritchie and parent Julie Rogers Bascom.

This is the seventh year that Blake has participated in a Habitat project during spring break. The first six construction sites were in Georgia.
