ONLINE DATABASES

Blake Middle School has access to several subscription database which can be accessed using any computer in the Blake network. These databases can also be accessed from computers outside of Blake using the barcode on your local library card or by obtaining a special password. Please talk to one of the Library/Media Center Staff if you need help accessing any of the databases.

  • Junior Reference Collection
    Includes biography, literature, science, the arts, culture, geography, and general reference and in each of these you will find documents, photographs/illustrations from sources along with three dictionaries, video & audio clips; Tool Box also available-valuable in research.

  • MasterFile Premier
    General interest topics; including leisure and recreation and multicultural resources in many forms: magazines, reference books, biographies, primary source documents and images.

  • InfoTrac Junior Edition
    General magazines, Knight-Ridder/Tribune newspaper articles, references books and maps that follow the middle school curriculum. Tool Box also available- valuable in research.

  • Discovering Collection
    Reference documents, illustrations, video and audio clips from many sources such as DISCcovering, EXPLORING, Worldmark series, various other sources with a Tool Box included.

  • ProQuest Newsstand Complete
    News sources from the United States and around the world, with local, state, regional, national, and international publications available for research.

  • Teen Health & Wellness
    A source of up-to-date information on health, fitness, mental health, alcohol, drugs, sexuality and more.
