Science Assignments... May 19 - 23, 2008

_____ DAY 1: Work on your space travel project, due Day 4.

_____ DAY 2: Work on your space travel project, due Day 4.

_____ DAY 3: Work on your space travel project, due Day 4.

_____ DAY 4: None

Note:
The deadline for extra credit projects is the end of the day on Wednesday.

Bonus/Extra Credit Idea:

Reflection and Absorption experiments: Conduct a controlled experiment (like done last week) to learn more about the materials that best insulate from temperature changes. That is, test different materials to see what best prevents a thermometer from warming up under a light (or cooling in a refrigerator). Write up an experiment report form.

Wondering about the "Final?"

The science "final" is a final experiment, not a final exam that covers all the material we studied all year.

Next week you will get information about the final experiment expectations. It is an assessment of your lab skills of planning and writing an experiment, and then conducting the experiment. You will write plans thoroughly, observe and measure carefully, and make reasonable interpretations and conclusions. These are skills we have used in experiments all year, and should not require any significant amount of studying. Come ready to be thorough and precise!
