Karlie and Elizabeth's LEGO Dacta Project
Our project had some amazing science. There are 2-24 tooth gears, 1-8 tooth gear and 1-40 tooth gear. Our system is compound gearing. We were able to make a successful ride! In our program we made our ride go at different speeds and make beeping noise and have flashing lights!

Even though in the end we made a successful ride, we still faced some tough challenges. One of the many challenges we faced was that one of the guys kept on hitting his head on the ground. We solved that problem by moving the guy's seat away from the ground. Another early problem we had was that our gears weren't meshing. The motor, which we put a 24-tooth gear on, wasn't high enough. We solved that problem by putting LEGOs on the bottom of the motor, so it was high enough to mesh with the other 24-tooth gear.

Some of the things that we liked were the accessories at the end. It was fun to decide what we wanted. Some of the things that we did not like were the programs. It was hard to decide what we wanted the ride to do like going fast then slowing. Or during the whole ride have it go fast. And our whole thing wasn't just one big, scary Farris wheel either. We have a rock climbing wall, tanning salon, and a game like basket ball you can play. And our ride is so loud; it attracts people from near and far.
