Historic Wins

Blake sophomore Kira Leadholm took first place at Minnesota’s National History Day event, earning a trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National History Day event this June. Classmate Korlekuor Akiti’s paper, “Sister Kenny: A Struggle Against Two Evils,” also earned honorable mention and a topical prize award.

Middle School Mathletes Take Second in State

Blake is proud to announce the Middle School MathCounts team took second place overall in the recent state competition! The state competition involves 38 teams and a number of individual mathletes. Congratulations to team members Jackson Wahl '17, Daniel Jing '17, Joel Jude '18 and Jessie Kang '18 for a great job.

Presidential Scholar Nominees

Blake is proud to announce Timothy (Natcher) Pruett, Christopher Chute and Daniel Weiser have been recently nominated to apply to become Presidential Scholars. 70 students in all were nominated for the program from Minnesota, from which two will be selected as winners in April. A resounding victory for Kentucky Morrow '13 and Hirsh Shekhar '14 in policy debate gives Blake its sixth state title, more than any active debate program in the state.
